Trip report 3.

Three posts in the same week? What the hell?! Okay so now I know what you are thinking a) Ari must be very bored b) Ari must be procrastinating hardcore c) Ari knows his memory is so bunk he just wants to get this all down. What may surprise you is that all three are true. I am a bit bored now because I have been trying to conserve money since the trip so have been staying in mostly (minus one bunk failed foray to tsukiji but that is another story) I am probably going to blow this all out this weekend since there is just too much cool stuff to be done. BUT with that in mind I now intend to finish off describing my Golden week trip extravaganza. Well I guess I left off right before I went to Osaka. Osaka in my quick superficial assessment seems like it would be an awesomely fun place to live. It just has that vibe to it. Well things I did there, I went to Den Den town (the poor mans akihabara except they actually let you haggle), dotonburi, America mura, Osakajo and its park, the kaiyukan which is the biggest aquarium in Japan, and some other good places. The aquarium was really neat but crowded as all hell. It was the only place this whole break where I really felt it was golden week because I was suffocated with people, at least I am a head or more taller then everyone but it was still kinda ass. Dotonburi was fun it was were I experienced most of the best parts about Osaka, the food. First off on the topic of food, I had for the first time different kinds of Takoyaki, I had experienced the run of the mill variety many times before but I ate one night at a restaurant near Toms place where we got Cheese Takoyaki, and Roast beef takoyaki, both h good both weird. In Osaka I had the best Okonomiyaki ever and for cheap. One night I just walked into the cops box and asked where cheap and tasty okonomiyaki was to be found and they sent us to an awesome restaurant, that is the only use for the cops in this country. Another night was shabu shabu tabehodai with Caleb and Amanda at a very hip restaurant. The food was awesome fast, and the tabehodai was way cheap especially since we stayed until they closed. After Osaka I went back one half day to Kyoto, where we went to Arashiyama. Arashiyama is a beautiful mountain area with some nice temples, an incredible bamboo walk, and a monkey park. The monkey park was a schlep up a hill but totaly worth it since there are about a 100 wild monkeys at the top waiting for you. They were sweet and would occasionally attack each other for no reason, just the way I like my monkeys. Well that was about it for the trip, there was one more day spent but it was very low key most of the day spent watching dbz on toms comp and playing dbz the game on his ps2, then a quick flight from Kansai International to Haneda Tokyo and I was home. Overall a good trip. And with that no more posts about trips, plus I put up the second batch of pictures so you can look at those by hitting the pictures link and sort by newest.
