Fantastic.
So I am supposed to be at work every morning at 9a.m. This morning I woke up and surprisingly felt extremely rested. I was in fact just waiting for the alarm to go off. I didn't want to waste precious bed time even if I wasn't sleeping anymore, so I decided to sit there and wait. Out of curiosity I cleared the scum out of my eyes and checked my watch. 8:56a.m. Holy crap is right. I picked up my alarm clock not so much in anger but mostly in confusion mixed with a bit of bewildered betrayal. Then it hit me, I have to get a new alarm clock already. See the story is I had bought my alarm clock for like 1600 yen or so off a table in front of a store in Akihabara.
This was a good deal, and it is a pretty rad clock. Not only does it tell time and have an alarm, but it also shows the Kanji for what day it is and it folds up small. Of course this being Japan, it also some how synchs itself up with the correct time in Tokyo. I am not really sure how it does this, I think its radio signals or something. I assumed that this would only work in Japan, so I have been using the same clock here in America. Well I found out pretty harshly that this is not the case, the damned thing is determined. It is strange though, that it usually is only supposed to reset when you hit its "wave" button but for some reason it seemingly indiscriminately changes back to Tokyo time ever few months. It will keep perfect LA time for weeks and then bammo, I wake up with five minutes to get dressed, eat, and get to work, and yes I didn't shower or shave today so I was in fact a hairy smelly mess. Good times. Oh and yes I have reset it and will be using it for tomorrow.
