In Diana.

Well it's like hour four in Indiana and so far pretty fun. I am for the record pretty gasey, most likely due to the mexican lunch we just had with a group of Anthonys friends. Anthony thinks one of the mexican waiters looks like Chris Rock, I dont see it but then again I could not bring myself to look at the guy very long while I was eating. Normally stops on a flight suck, but I actually kind of liked this flight because I got to fly out of DCA stop in O'hare, and then fly into Indianapolis, three airports I have never visited before. Plus riding the DC metro at 5a.m. was interesting, a good amount of sketch balls, some of who smelled (yes I checked most of them). Pretty much just wasting sometime now while Anthony is at a meeting with IUSTV. Looking forward to what sounds like a sizeable party tonight. In conclusion, A team is awesome, turn A, seriously, and good night.

Uncreative writing.

Okay, so I have been thinking about it, and maybe it is a bit unfair of me to publish that kids poem (as hilarious as it is online) without stepping forth and putting something of my own up also. So I have decided in interest of fairness I will post the poem I wrote this week for the creative writing class. Now the assignment was to write a poem from a perspective that's different from your own. Here was my poem:

It used to be the two of us
by
A. D.

It used to be the two of us,
he would dash out of the cave,
fight the fight, solve the crimes,
then always return back to me.
The caped crusader and me; trusty old Alfred.

That is, of course, until he showed up.
"“Oh Alfred, don'’t worry, I a’m just taking in a lost soul.
His parents were killed, just like mine.
Alfred, the boy needs a home,
don'’t worry old man this won't change us."”
Now it"’s the dark night, the boy wonder, and old Alfred.

Yet, no more late night talks alone.
No more movie nights, or pillow fights.
Master Wayne has his ward to attend.
Always practicing and training...
Oh, I know the training he'’s giving that boy,
dressing him in those ridiculous tights and green cape.
Master Wayne, his caped ward, and bothersome Alfred.

Okay no Robert Frost, I know, but to be fair I also wrote it in five minutes during my lunch break at work before class. Also no I am not insinuating anything here in the poem, but, c'mooooon... Anyways not much else to report in this post, saw the New Pornographers last night at the 9:30 club, was a great show. Just watched gross point blank on t.v. forgot what a great movie it is, especially when you are supposed to be studying for mid terms and writing papers. Oh and one more thing, I have come to the realization that Japan has changed me to the point where I love the shitiest j-pop now, it's sad but I can't help it anymore. I know most of it's terrible but I'm too far gone. Oh and Korean comedies are great too, and, I think I am going to just shut up now.

Creative writing.

This is probably not going to be a post about much. The weekend was pretty fun, and I was able to devote a whole day to being a sloth which always makes me a happy guy. What I really wanted to write about today though is my creative writing class. The beginning half of the semester has been the poetry section where we have had to write poetry every week usually with some sort of form or topic we need to cover. Now to begin with I am not some kind of great writer, in fact I write a lot of crap but its usually just bad and not painful. And of course you can tell especially on writing I don't care about too much I don't put in too much effort with grammar, spelling, punctuation and the like. Well there is a person or two in my class whose works tends to differ a bit, a bit outstanding. SO without further ado here is probably one of the most incredible awe inspiring writers, truly a savant for the twenty first century, here is the piece "The Trip of a Lifetime"

Years ago I went
although I feel like I'm still there
It was my home for one month
Nothing can compare

I was only 13
Just a little kid
On Such a big adventure
There was so much that we did

The land called Croatia
My! What a beautiful place
So much different than America
Things move at such a slower pace

It was my best friend who took me
His family is Croatian
A present from my parents
The trip was quite a sensation

Okay now I know what your thinking, this is sweet! Well it is, I mean first the rhyme scheme is perfect rhyming words like place and pace, and my favorite Croatian and Sensation, its just crafted. Also the exclamation mark really lets you know what needs to be emphasized. Oh and just for the record I did not change a word its all verbatim, I can't accept any of the credit for this wonder, though I wish I could! This kid consistently comes up with great work, I look forward to each week. I really don't know what the teacher is thinking letting us keep copies of everyone else's poetry, maybe she doesn't expect us all to be assholes with nerdy websites. Oh and just for the record there are some talented and intelligent writers in my class, but some kids just need to get a damned clue.
