Goddamn Mongolians

Hey everyone, writing right now from the computer at our youth hostel in Beijing, we have been here for five days. It has been pretty awesome so far, even though we were only supposed to be here for four days but more on that later or in another post. This city is in fact surreal, fabulous, and absolutely AMAAAAZING, uh yeah, now that that's out of the way... So Mexico repeated itself, Josh already managed to get himself sick off something. I have of course been eating the sketchest food possible, gotta love street food, but I have yet to feel the repercussions, thank god I spent all those years training i.e. eating trash from dumpster, good job stomach. A couple days ago we went the some wall, I think its supposed to be pretty big or something. While we were hiking up it I could not stop myself from cursing those goddamn Mongolians every two steps, they tried to take down this city wall, goddamn Mongolians. Anyways I think the most retarded conversation that has ever taken place on that wall happened that day and I would like to transcribe it now for everyone.
Josh: The Mongolians must have thought, "oh shit" the moment they first came around the mountain and saw this huge ass wall in their way.
Me: Nah the Mongolians, (goddamn Mongolians), probably didn't care they just knocked it down anyways. They probably just used their horse technology to blow up the wall.
Josh: I be Bon Jovi could take down the wall on his horse.
Me; Well he does ride a metal horse.
Josh: It was a steel horse (at this point I was impressed by Josh's knowledge of Bon Jovi), and I bet the Chinese would be so freaked out to see a whole army of Bon Jovi's coming at their wall.
Me: You could get a whole army of Bon Jovis from Japan pretty fast right now, but they don't have steel horses, all they have are denim jackets and feathered hair...
There was pretty much no point in recording this, and at this point the conversation basically degenerated more. So in conclusion Beijing is sweet, you can buy a liter of beer for like $.13 and you can buy a whole duck for $3.50. hurray for China, more posts on why we are in Beijing an extra day, and the awesome day I had when Josh was out of commission for a day coming later. Zai Jiani...

Middle country.

So just landed in China. In an internet cafe in the airport now because we forgot to write down the address for the hostel so swung by to pick it up. So far I have already eaten at KFC China version, my whole meal cost $1.50 and it was actually good and spicy, also in this internet cafe there is a big fat dude without a shirt sitting a table over from me playing cards with three other dudes one of which is wearing a full shirt. So far so good. The good by at the airport was nice, I got kanchoed one last time by Yuji and swiftly returned the favor. Also Anthony, Minami, Yuki (I dont know why), and this chick Ayaka saw me off.

How the hell did this happen.

That was a rhetorical question of course, it ended in a period. I know how it happened, "it" being my "year" in "Japan," "ending." Wow, so anyways, its very bizarre and a little intense that I will be going home soon and then in a couple weeks heading back to D.C. for one last year of school. I have no idea how that's going to go, I mean I haven't taken a legit class for a while now... People wont be speaking Japanese everywhere, the weather will be shitty again, but it will be fun to be able to make friends that I don't have to struggle to make understand me. Well anyways bones to the future, right now my brother just arrived in town and we have already had gyudon, sushi, 30 pieces of gyoza, ramen, and its only been since yesterday night. We still have much food to eat, lots of Tokyo to be shown, entry visas to be picked up, sayonara parties to be survived, and of course there is still the big China trip. Speaking of china trip, we have plan tickets to China so far, that's all we have planned. Not like we are leaving it to the last minute or anything... We are sweet. Anyways, when I get to china I will eat three, count them three, dogs. I only wrote that because me and Lars can say that in Japanese. Probably a lot of other people also... Anyways after today I learned the extent to how much Pete sucks (A team rules) but I also finished up school. MUSHI, MUSHI, KANTAN JYA-NE! Anyways, turn -a, seriously, sayonara party video is awesome. Seth finally made the year book. Its right after the video. Going to end this year in style, going out on top, get to China, rock hard, go home, camping crew, Gdub a year. That's the plan, and.... Break. (side note pic is of a dude carrying animal up Fuji san, apparently..)

A great series of events.

Nice. Things are going well. Last weekend had an awesome time at Mt. Fuji. We stayed in a sweet hotel across from Fuji next to a beautiful lake, had a good day of sightseeing a freaking half hour fireworks show, and then a nice night of drinking and raucous, 2 hours of sleep and then a good day of stomping around on Mt. Fuji, we didn't climb it but it was a good time. Then Last night gorged on yakiniku tabehodai definitely love the super yakiniku viking. To top all that off just finished scheduling a trip for after the semester is over. The trip will be to China with my brother Josh who is flying in to Tokyo on the 20th, he will crash with me, then we leave the 25th to Beijing and then I return to Tokyo on the 7th where I later that night fly back to the USA. I have about three weeks home which hopefully will include a camping trip with the whole crew and back to GW to start the next semester, as a senior. HOLY CRAP. So yeah now I figure I should shower or some garbage and figure out how I can budget all this, there are then a few other small details like what to do with all my stuff and what to do in China but overall almost all done with the planning. I'll put up some fuji pics too. This pic was the view from our room at Fuji san, and that mountain is the Fuji san himself.
